Chicken and Fried Egg Burger

The Chicken and Fried Egg Burger is a sumptuous twist on the traditional burger that elevates the ensemble to new heights of brunch-worthy decadence.

Marrying the heartiness of a perfectly seasoned chicken breast with the luxuriousness of a soft, runny fried egg, this burger promises a rich and rewarding eating experience. As the yolk breaks and melds with the chicken and the other components, it creates a creamy sauce that is nothing short of divine.

Accompanied by a tangy mayonnaise spread and the crispness of fresh lettuce and ripe tomato, each bite delivers a symphony of textures and flavors that are at once comforting and sophisticated.

Ingredients:

For the Chicken Patties:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Fried Eggs:

  • 4 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter, for frying

Additional:

  • 4 quality hamburger buns, halved and toasted
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1 ripe tomato, sliced
  • Optional: sliced cheese, pickles, and onions

Preparation:

Preparing the Chicken Breasts:

  1. Flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness for even cooking.
  2. Rub each breast with olive oil and season with smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken breasts for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and juices run clear.
  4. If desired, add a slice of cheese on top of each breast a minute before they’re done to let it melt.

Frying the Eggs:

  1. Heat butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Crack the eggs into the skillet, being careful not to break the yolks.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny, or to your preference.

Assembling the Burger:

  1. Spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  2. Place a lettuce leaf on top of the mayo.
  3. Add the cooked chicken breast to the bun.
  4. Top the chicken with a slice of ripe tomato.
  5. Carefully place the fried egg on top of the tomato.
  6. Add optional pickles and onions if desired.
  7. Cap with the top half of the toasted bun.
